Grand Bateau is the result of a close collaboration, dating back to the eighties, with the Château Beychevelle, a winery in the Saint-Julien appellation of the Bordeaux region of France. The wine produced here was classified as one of ten Quatrièmes Crus in the historic Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855. The boat on the label recalls the mythical longship of the prestigious Château Beychevelle Cru Classé de Saint-Julien.
Philippe Blanc, Director of Château Beychevelle, provides his valuable knowledge for the final assembly of the fruit forward, attractive, and youthfully refreshing Grand Bateau. Citrus and yellow apple with crisp acidity and also with a warm lightly spicy character is nicely textured and ready to drink.
