Jaboulet's "Les Traverses" which is a Provencal name given to walls which protect the soil from erosion. Provence is located about two hours driving east from Ventoux. This wine consists of an 80-20 blend, of Grenache and Syrah. This wine is a bit more hedonistic. Bright red fruit and spice on the nose. A hint of black pepper. This Grenache dominated blend has silky tannins, and an almost velvety texture, especially compared to it's counter-part, which is much more linear on the palate. Also interesting that this wine is vilified 100% in stainless steel tanks as opposed to barrel.
